A $37 Dollar ‘Total Service Charge’??

I was looking over my checking account online this morning and there was a new line item. It was called ‘Total Service Charge’ and it cost me $37. Old me has seen these before once in awhile for varying amounts, but new me wants to know what this fee is all about. Old me would just ignore it and assume it’s some legitimate banking fee, new me is angry to see it and wants to know exactly what it means, and quite frankly wants to keep that $37 to pay towards debt. I will be calling today to have them explain what it is. Then if time permits, I may start shopping for a new place to do my checking.

Way to be assertive! There are way too many banks offering free checking to pay a bank for the service. $37 is a lot to spend every month on something you can get free! Good luck at getting that resolved. :)
